* Abstract

In 2010, the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST), the first private university in North Korea was opened, bringing with it many new opportunities for North Korea’s cooperation with the Western world.  Many have used this “open door” as a means to engage in scientific diplomacy with North Korea to work towards both world peace as well as reunification.  In this talk I would like to give an introduction of our university and an update of recent activities especially related to engineering education in North Korea.  Specifically, I would like to highlight our student exchange and research collaboration programs.
